CORTLANDT SOFTBALL LITTLE LEAGUE

CSLL welcomes players ages 5 - 12 from Hendrick Hudson, Lakeland, Putnam Valley, and Peekskill school districts. Our league focuses on developing fundamental softball skills while building a love of the game in a fun and friendly atmosphere. We encourage players of all experience levels.

CSLL DESCRIPTION OF SPRING DIVISIONS

ROOKIES: 6 and under

  • 7-8 game schedule beginning mid-April and ending mid-June
  • One weekday practice (determined by coach); Saturday games
  • Small team sizes; non-competitive games within division
  • Coach pitch; full lineup bats each inning; no outs

MINORS: 8 and under

  • 7-8 game schedule beginning mid-April and ending mid-June
  • One weekday practice (determined by coach); Saturday games and occasional weekday
  • Small team sizes; non-competitive games within division
  • Combination of coach and player pitching with modified rules

AAA: 10 and under

  • 8-10 game schedule beginning mid-April and ending mid-June
  • One weekday practice (determined by coach); Saturday and weekday games
  • Division and inter-league play
  • Introduction to competitive games with umpires; all player pitching

Majors: 12 and under

  • 8-10 game schedule beginning mid-April and ending mid-June
  • One weekday practice (determined by coach); Saturday and weekday games
  • Division and inter-league play
  • Competitive games with umpires; all player pitching

ELIGIBILITY

Determined based on age as of January 1st prior to Spring Season. Players can request to move up a level and final decision will be made at tryouts.

EQUIPMENT NEEDS

League provides uniform shirts. Players responsible for:

  • Field mask
  • Batting helmet with cage
  • Glove
  • Black softball pants
  • Optional but recommended: bat, cleats
